Bridges for Music runs music education for young people who would otherwise never get near a studio or a stage. Bridges Academy is the school end of it. This was documentary work. The teaching, the practice, the ordinary hours that don’t look like much and are the entire point.
The brief for work like this is basically honesty. No staged joy, no saviour framing. Just show the students doing the thing, at the level of attention they actually bring to it, and trust that it reads.
[ROY: where is the Academy based, and what year did you shoot this? Anything about the programme you’d want named?]
